Wind Energy

Wind is air movement caused by air masses with different temperatures. Different temperatures are caused by water and land masses that absorb the sun's heat differently. On a global scale air mass movements are caused by the temperature difference between the equator and the earth near the poles. Because wind will beat while the sun will warm the Earth is a renewable energy source, which is currently operated to produce electricity.
Current Wind turbines operate on the same principle as windmills from antiquity: propeller blades gather kinetic energy of wind into electricity that transform via a generator. The biggest disadvantage of wind energy is that it does not get electricity when the wind does not blow or beating too weak, so they must be provided an alternative source of electricity. Harnessing wind power started in the 70s, with the first world oil crisis. In the 90s he returned to the forefront because of concerns arising from the environmental impact of fossil fuel pollution. The only disadvantages of wind, birds and impact on the visual impact on the environment.
Wind energy is the energy in the wind force, knocking on the earth's surface. Exploited, it can be transformed into mechanical energy for pumping water, for example, or milling wheat at what works with wind mills. By connecting a rotor to an electric generator, current wind turbines transfer wind energy that spins the rotor into electricity.
Uses
The Egyptians were perhaps the first to use the energy generated by wind when they sailed the Nile upstream, around the fourth century BC Over centuries sailing vessels were to dominate the seas and oceans, primarily serving the commercial transportation scientific and military purposes. The great empires of our era sailing vessels used to control and dominate large. These vessels sails today are present in water, but are built with modern equipment. Their use is, however, quite different - whether sports vessel, either as pleasure boats. Wind energy has been exploited overland when the first windmill was built in ancient Persia in the seventh century. Since then windmills are used for grinding wheat, pumping water, sawing wood or other forms of mechanical energy supply. But large-scale exploitation barely appeared in the twentieth century, with the advent of windmills Modern - wind turbines that can generate a power of 250 to 300 kilowatts.
Windmills
Because wind is a clean and endless resource of energy, wind turbines are installed in improving countries and where wind power, wind intensity permit can be exploited to replace traditional sources of electricity, and heat generated by burning coal. Improvements to the rotors and propellers, combined with an increase in the number of turbines installed, led to an increase in wind power by about 150% since 1990. In 1997, for example, global wind energy market manipulates around 3 billion dollars.
Other uses
To find a power source to charge your cell phone can be a problem when you are on a trip to the mountains or simply forgot to take your charger with you. But the solution to this problem may be simpler than they. Gizmodo says that students from the Indian Institute of Technology have come up with a great idea. They created a turbine powered handheld wind energy, which can be attached to mobile phone charging.
The technique is not yet on the market, but the department has sent a proposal to the Minister of Science and Technology in India to manufacture this type of turbine on a larger scale, Lalit Kumar said Prof. Das, head of the Department of Industrial Design. The device is meant those who are in coastal areas, where the wind is always present. But it can be used everywhere, even during a trip, as long as there are air currents. This mechanism could be an ideal solution for those who do not have at hand a source of electricity. And if you wonder who will buy a cell phone if you do not have electricity, could you remain amazed. For example, the population of Ciosa, Bistrita Nasaud, Romania, buy mobile phones, even if electricity is only a concept that dreams of a reach in one day and in their village. Signal network in the area is good, but if you want to upload a phone estate means a road 8 km to the nearest town. And this is not an isolated case. According to Roy Starr, from Freeplay Energy, a company that produces and sells wind generator based, Kenya has 30 million of people and 3 million mobile phone users, but only 200,000 homes receiving electricity.
Safety wind energy
Wind energy will be a promising source of electric power in the future due ecologitatii and its infinity. However, because the wind speed varies during the day, the season or years of wind energy generated is intermittent resource. In areas of the world with wind turbines strong action acts around 60% during the year. Even so wind turbines may be insufficient to work at full capacity. However technology has managed to adapt by improving their creations and producing other using this type of energy.
